Revolution Sports Marketing Group was launched in 2003 by Merrick Haydon and Rod Kohler, and has since grown to involve a team of experienced and passionate individuals with extensive experience in the field of marketing and PR. Having worked on some of the most prestigious global and domestic events the Revolution team have the knowledge and understanding to maximize the impact and value of sponsorship, events, and PR on behalf of its clients.

Key personnel:

Merrick Haydon – Director

With over 20 years’ experience within sports marketing, sponsorship and event management working with clients such as American Airlines, BMW, Jumeriah, MasterCard, Rolex, UBS and Volkswagen. Merrick has worked with major international sponsors, athletes, federations, and rights holders to maximise activation of sponsorship programmes as well as devising and implementing sponsorship strategies.

Rod Kohler – Director

Rod has worked in the international sports marketing industry for two decades on behalf of clients including Travelex, KPMG, Coca-Cola, Heineken, Motorola and adidas. Rod's expertise is in international sponsorship and communications and he has been involved in managing multi office PR programmes for clients involved with sports events including Formula One, the Football World Cup, The Olympics, the Davis Cup, the Cricket World Cup, the Julius Baer Beach Polo World Cup and the Rolex FEI World Cup.

 

Steven Wilde – Client Services Director

Steven Wilde has over 10 years experience in PR, Marketing and Event Management, and has worked with clients including; Champagne Taittinger, Ascot Racecourse, The Racing Post, Blue Square, Health Perception, Live Nation, Endemol Productions and Rank Group.

Steven is also an established Broadcaster and Commentator, working for Sky Sports and the BBC through to Dubai Sports. He has been seen and heard at many major sporting events around the World as well as events on home turf in the UK. He was on the Sports Presentation team for the London Prepares Series at Greenwich in 2011 and is set to return to the role for London 2012.

Tim Welland – Account Manager

Tim is an account manager at Revolution. He has been working in the field of marketing and events for the last five and a half years. Tim currently works on a range of sports and entertainment sponsorship accounts, with responsibility for sponsorship, PR and event management on all accounts.

Patrick Upton – Financial PR Consultant

Patrick Upton is a press relations and marketing consultant with over 20 years experience specialising in financial, business-to-business, and corporate communications. He has advised over 100 clients in a variety of sectors including banks and City financial institutions, firms of accountants, lawyers and head hunters, oil, IT, and insurance companies, management consultancies, and Government agencies. Patrick works for Revolution on clients who want to achieve press coverage in both business and sports media.

Christie Fearnside – Account Executive

Christie joins Revolution having worked with Laxton Marketing in Hong Kong on the 2010 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes, staged at Kowloon Cricket Club. Christie represented the HK hockey team at the Asian Games, Doha 2009 and HK East Asian Games 2010. Responsibilities include working on the Rolex international PR, Saudi Equestrian team, EBF accounts, as well as ad hoc projects across a number of sports events and brands.


Tracy Roden – Office Manager

Tracy has worked with Revolution since 2009 and oversees all office accounts and administration for each of the Groups business activities. Tracy provides valuable administrative and accounting support with over 10 years experience.
